Bisera Chadlovska
Bisera Chadlovska was born in Skopje in 1978. She started attending the Ilija Nikolovski - Luj elementary music school in Skopje, where at the age of 5 she started learning to play the piano. After graduating from the music high school, in 1996 she enrolled in the conducting department of the Faculty of Music Art in Skopje in Skopje. She studied with Professor Fimcho Muratovski. In 2001 she graduated orchestra conducting with a concert with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra. She enrolled in post-graduate studies at the State Music Academy Pancho Vladigerov in Sofia, Bulgaria, where she studied with maestro Plamen Djouroff. After finishing her education, she started working as a chorus master at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet in Skopje. As a talented young conductor, she quickly began working as an assistant conductor and then as a conductor of most of the operas and ballets on the repertoire of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. She had her first premiere at the Skopje Summer Festival in 2005, conducting Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto. As a result of her work on this opera, she received a sponsorship from the CEE Eastern Musiktheater, a foundation that promoted young opera artists from Eastern Europe. In 2006, she became principal conductor of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet. She was the artistic director of the Opera in Skopje from 2017 until 2020. In 2022, she was appointed music selector of the prestigious Ohrid Summer Festival, where she has also performed many times as a conductor. During her years as a conductor, she has worked on numerous premieres of operas and ballets, as well as concerts and works by Macedonian composers. Her repertoire consists of over 50 operas and ballets. She has also conducted the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Plovdiv Opera and Varna Opera in Bulgaria, the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Timisoara Opera in Romania. She is also a professor at the Faculty of Music Art in Skopje. Chadlovska is a recipient of the Georgi Bozikov award for continuous performance of pieces by Macedonian composers, the Musician of the Year award for 2015 and the November 13th award for art and culture in 2019, awarded by the city of Skopje.
