ELENA TALEVSKA

VIOLIN

Elena was born in 1982 in Bitola. She completed her primary and secondary music education in her native town. She also studied privately with the acclaimed violinist Sihana Badivuku. She completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Skopje in the class of Prof. Mihajlo Kufojanakis and has also attended numerous violin seminars led by Blagoja Dimchevski, Sihana Badivuku, Liviu Prunaru, Cornelia Bronzetti and others. Elena has been awarded numerous prizes in national chamber music competitions, of which more significant are two first and two second prizes. She has performed at the most renowned festivals in Macedonia, such as the Ohrid Summer Festival, Days of Macedonian Music, Skopje Summer, etc.

For a long time, Elena was also a member of the Youth Chamber Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia. In 2002 she was selected to be a Macedonian representative in an orchestra composed of musicians from ex-Yugoslavia and Europe, performing in the greater part of the continent. Elena was also a member of an international orchestra based in Italy. As a chamber musician, she is a part of many ensembles and at the moment is the first violinist of the Viva Strings Quartet, with which she has performed extensively.

From 2001-2006, Elena was a part-time member of the Macedonian Philharmonic, until 2006, when she was employed as a full-time tutti violinist. She is also a member of the Chamber Orchestra of the Philharmonic. Elena is a member of the film music orchestra since its formation.

In her free time, Elena practices yoga and is a lover of cycling.
