DIMCHE BELCHOVSKI
FIRST TROMBONE
Dimche is one of the most distinguished artists of his generation. He completed his secondary education at the SMBC Ilija Nikolovski Luj in Skopje, in the trombone class of Prof. T. Todorov. He has received numerous prizes at national and international competitions. He was a scholarship holder from the Interlochen Arts Academy, USA in 2001 and 2002, where he performed as first trombone of the World Youth Orchestra, with artists from around the world. Showing excellent results in the summer music camp, Belchovski received an offer from the Interlochen Academy to continue his education as a scholarship student in the class of Prof. Tom Riccobono. He completed his education at one of the highest-ranking universities in the United Stated, Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he was awarded numerous awards and recognitions.
He has participated in numerous seminars and workshops led by world renowned trombonists: Joe Alessi from the New York Philharmonic, Charles Freeman from Chicago, Nitzan Haroz from Philadelphia, Mark Fisher from Chicago Lyric Opera, etc. After his return to Macedonia in 2006, Dimche completed his Master’s studies at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He began his professional career as the first trombone in the Macedonian Philharmonic in 2007, where he significantly increased the musicianship in the trombone section, contributing to the quality of the orchestra. In 2016 he began his pedagogical career as professor of trombone and chamber music at the SCMB Ilija Nikolovski Luj, since 2019 at the International University Europa Prima in Skopje and since 2020 at the Faculty of Music in Skopje. The multiple awards of his students at national and international competitions, witness of his successful pedagogical story. His performing resume is filled with performances with the Macedonian Philharmonic and the few chamber ensembles founded by him, such as the Macedonian Brass Quintet and the Trombone Quartet of the Macedonian Philharmonic. Besides his appearances in Macedonia, he has also successfully performed in the USA, China, Spain, Israel, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Bulgaria, Serbia, etc.
Dimche is also an architect and often dedicates time to creating designs for construction projects, as well as designing unique pieces of furniture. He dedicates his free time to his family, traveling and taking walks in nature. His hobby is playing tennis with his friends and his son.
