Milan Siljanov

Milan Siljanov is currently a member of the Young Artist Programme of the Bavarian State Opera. A Samling Artist, he studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Opera Course) under the tutelage of Prof Rudolf Piernay. He is the winner of the prestigious Wigmore Hall/ Kohn Foundation International Song Competition in London in 2015.
 
In 2014, he was awarded both the first prize and audience prize at the 50th International Vocal Competition in Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.
 
Milan has worked with conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Constatinos Carydis, Daniele Callegari, Ingo Metzmacher, Dan Ettinger and Paolo Carignani. Recent operatic appearances include Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Verbier Festival Academy – where he was also awarded the Prix Yves Paternot for the most accomplished artist within the Academy, Antonio in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro (Bavarian State Opera) and Peter Besenbinder in Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel (Bavarian State Opera). Highlights of the 2018/19 season include; Beethoven Symphony No. 9 with Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne with Joshua Weilerstein, Haydn’s Nelson Mass with Orchestre National de Lyon with Omer Meir Wellber, Adriana Lecouvreur at the Verbier Festival with Valery Gergiev, song recital at Oxford Lieder and a Wigmore Hall recital. Future appearances at the Bavarian State Opera include roles in Salome, Othello, Hänsel und Gretel, Les vêpres siciliennes, Madama Butterfly, From the house of the Dead, Le nozze di Figaro and Meistersinger.
 
Milan will join the ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera next season.
