Emir Imerov

Emir Imerov was born in Skopje, Macedonia in 1975 and won the first prize in a violin competition at the age of 12. In 1991 he moved to Mönchengladbach (Germany) and continued his violin studies with Juri Koscharskij at the Music School in Mönchengladbach and later as a student at the Music Academy in Würzburg. He continued his studies at the Music Academy in Würzburg in the class of Professor G. Zhislin and he received his degree there in the year 2000.

During his studies he participated in the Mendelssohn Competition at the Bavarian Hochschule for Music and was awarded, as winner of the first prize, a 2-year scholarship. Imerov concertized extensively as a member of the St.Petersberg Virtuoso Quartet, touring in the United States, Australia, U.S.S.R. Switzerland and Germany. In 1998 Imerov won, with the piano trio he had founded, the first prize in a chamber music competition in Toulouse and, in the same year, the second prize in a violin competition in Tashkent. Emir Imerov continued his studies in the masterclass of Prof. D.Gaede, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition he attended masterclasses with Professors Z. Bron and V. Tretjakov. Since 2004, Emir Imerov holds a principal violin position with the Niederrheinische Sinfonieorchester in Mönchengladbach-Krefeld and is a violin teacher at Mönchengladbach’s municipal Academy of Music. He became a member of the ensemble “Solistes Européens” in Luxembourg in 2010. Emir Imerov is a permanent guest teacher at master classes in Greece, Poland, Germany, Belgium and Croatia.
